Jose ‘Shorty’ Torres Reveals UFC Release, Flyweight Division’s End | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

With Demetrious Johnson off to ONE Championship, the end of the UFC men’s flyweight division was thought to be short lived. Adding fuel to that fire is the release of top prospect Jose ‘Shorty’ Torres, who revealed on Twitter today he’d be cut or released from his UFC contract. Most interestingly, he wasn’t even given the option of moving up to bantamweight. In this interview from my radio show, he reveals what the UFC told him and what could be next.

The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

  1. They have pushed the flyweights enough no one cares about then

  2. How many times can this guy say "fair share"? He sounds like an SJW broken record.

  3. If the UFC isn't the fighters employer how are they able to not follow through with the contract that they signed with the fighters. Fighters must abide by the contract, but to UFC can just cut fighters for no reason. If this isn't an employer than the fighters should be able to sue the UFC for breach of contract.

  4. Torres got a fluke win in his first fight and absolutely rolled in his second. They're not going to keep everyone at 125 so why would he possibly be on the short list?

  5. Merry Christmas Flyweights:

    You're FOOKED 😤😭😥😫😣

Daddy Dana Never was Your Friend.

  6. Good business decision if they close the Flyweigh division. Shame for the fighters, but good decision for the company.

  7. I watch everything ufc I possibly can .. the voided top 10 list beyond the top 4 or 5.. not really known maybe it's best for all parties involved
