Canelo, DAZN and UFC’s PPV Future | SiriusXM | Luke Thomas

Boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez signed a landmark deal with DAZN, the streaming broadcaster, worth at least $365 million for 11 fights. It’s a five-year deal that’s being heralded as the most lucrative contract for an individual fighter in sports history. I have four takeaways from this development, not least of which is that the era of streaming is upon us. More than that, however, is how intertwined MMA and boxing are and that between the WWE moving to their own network and this deal, UFC’s days on pay-per-view must be numbered.

The Luke Thomas Show airs weekdays, 3 to 6pm ET, on SiriusXM RUSH, channel 93.

  1. Only odd thing is you gotta pay for so many separate things, I guess ya fine because you’re only paying for exactly what you want. Netflix, Apple Music, FightPass, FloGrappling, Spotify, Hulu, HBO, ShoTime, Xfinity, DNZN, ESPN+

  2. Like your a full on clown. Since ya took over the MMA hour it's tanked. Not alot of dudes dig your podcast. Your kinda a dweeb bro. Take a new angle on how ya approach the game man. Just a clown. 21 seconds in I gotta bounce from this clown

  3. I've been interested in MMA ever since Tito Ortiz was the biggest name in the UFC. I've never really followed boxing until the Klitschko brothers dominated the heavyweight division. I don't see why I shouldn't or can't be a fan of both.
